When do you expect to launch?

Short Answer: Fall 2026 (projected)

Long Answer: As soon as the final game components required are completed, the game will be ready to physically manufacture and launch. Over the time of development and launch, the game cards have been tested to determine whether or not they were "completed" in the design sense (such as cards missing art, or using filler components while designs were created for them), so I feel confident when I say that as soon as these final images and component items are complete, the timeframe to completion is based entirely on a physically manufacturing timeline.

When I reached out to several manufacturing companies in the past, the timeline depended entirely on the quantity expected. Some said 6 months, some said 90 days. Once our official Gamefound has launched, we can more accurately determine a reasonable launch date and release date based on the success of the crowdfunding campaign.

What kind of game is Heroes of Havokk?

First and foremost, Heroes of Havokk is a deck-building, player-vs-player card game. Fancy format rulings aside, it is, and is intended to be a card game for two or more players who enjoy fantasy settings and strategic battle simulation.

The Arena format, the most commonly played and preferred format from our testing, is the core of the gameplay experience and is recommended for any new player. This is the core game experience that is intended for most players: two players create a 60-card deck and battle against each other (or up to 8 players in a standard game).

The advanced formats are designed to give players who really enjoy the complexity of the game, or want additional challenges, or enjoy custom-type content. Quest format is objective-based team play, and Campaign is the full experience, designed to emulate a tabletop roleplaying game experience.

What do I need to get started?

Everything that up to two players need to play is included in each game pack.

To play any format of the game, a player must construct a 60-card deck that includes at least 1 Hero character card.

Dice and markers are optional but are included (and recommended) to help players track game elements.

What makes Heroes of Havokk different from other card games?

Many games will have you collect a resource to play cards or use them, and from those resources come powerful effects, characters, and abilities. Heroes of Havokk is different in this way, because the resource that all players have access to is constant, and equal between all players: Actions. Instead of having to create magical power from resource cards or gather energy from a card, players instead have 3 actions per turn to use. This means that timing and strategy are key components to success, not just having powerful cards!

Another key difference is that, where some games would have you summon powerful characters, your deck is built around one in Heroes of Havokk. Your Hero character is always present and available to use on turn one, your deck is built around this character, and you play as them. Some games do this as well, but Heroes of Havokk treats your deck as your "character build" rather than a useful pile of cards. Your playstyle develops from the cards you choose, and personifies your deck and gameplay experience.

In the advanced formats, Heroes of Havokk offers players a full role-playing game experience using their existing cards. It's true that this is something that can be emulated with special formats or custom formats in other games; however,

Campaign Format is designed to offer a more in-depth and challenging experience for players, as well as give more versatility to the same cards used for the basic game. That way, each card is consistently useful and effective in the format (and all formats).

First, it is recommended that you review the game's Arena format rulebook if you have one available (one is included in each game pack).

Do Heroes of Havokk cards work with my existing TCG-related products?

They're designed to play nice. Cards are "standard poker size" and roughly the same size as other card games like Magic and Pokémon (printing quality and how they are cut sometimes affect this). Their official print size is 63 mm x 88 mm.

They should fit in most of your existing sleeves and boxes.

Do you have any suggestions for a new player?

Each alignment has its own perks and playstyles. What I recommend is that if you haven't already, go look at each Hero's individual profile pages and their abilities, the card gallery of cards related to them, and see if any of those specifically appeal to you. From there, look at the other Heroes in that character's alignment.

For example, let's say that Olivia really stands out to you. She's from the Light alignment, which means that if you were to buy the Light alignment pack, you'd also get Avisary, Danika, and Xavier as Hero characters and the cards related to each of them. You could then review their profiles and see if any of their cards or effects complement Olivia's abilities (they do).

Once you've selected a Hero character that's right for you, look at the cards with your Hero's art: these will often be the best "support" cards for their build. Time and trial will help you learn what works best for each Hero you play as!

Play the Arena format first. Once you feel comfortable with all of the Arena format rules, find a group to try the Quest format scenarios. These will prepare you for the chaos that sometimes erupts from group games. Then, once you've conquered Quest format's Bosses, head to Campaign format and forge your own Heroic tale upon Havokk.
