"I am the instrument of a greater purpose; your suffering is but a necessary note in our dark symphony."

-Rhogar Oathbreaker

Rhogar Oathbreaker was once known as a prominent Paladin of the Light, defending truth, justice, and the innocents of Havokk under the leadership of the “Church of the Matron.” Rhogar was also a brother-in-arms to Avisary, who, between the Templar order and the Church of the Matron, the two groups and warriors were symbols of justice amongst those who knew them; The two were often found working in tandem to defend the innocent. Over their years of service, they developed a long-lasting friendship and were often seen collaborating for the greater good.

Before becoming Rhogar Oathbreaker, Rhogar was still known for his extreme methods of “purifying” his enemies. Avisary was often the one who kept him in line, but overall, his methods were often contested, and the Church viewed his beliefs as not properly aligned with their agendas. Being more politically motivated than by truth and justice, the Church eventually turned on Rhogar when he discovered and thwarted a crime ring that was bringing the church huge profits by exploiting their followers. Rhogar confronted the church and threatened to expose them to the Templar Order. It was this that finally broke the straw, and they used a group of criminals and assassins working within their own ranks to attempt to kill Rhogar.

During an encounter with what appeared to be agents of darkness, Rhogar and Avisary led a group of paladins into an active war zone. Rhogar was separated from the other paladins and tortured relentlessly by the wicked foes. Avisary attempted to rescue Rhogar, but the Church of the Matron led him to believe that Rhogar was slain during the encounter. After working to free himself from his captors, Rhogar eventually found that the very same Church that had led him to this battle also arranged to have him removed from it, permanently. Having felt absolutely betrayed as a warrior and that his quest no longer had a purpose, Rhogar swore then and there that he would have his revenge.

Losing his sense of purpose without the light to guide him, Aribus took advantage of the blackness in Rhogar's soul, filling his emptiness with hatred for the Light and the promise of power to get his revenge using the power of the Void. Under the thrall of his new dark master, Rhogar, set out on a new campaign: to purge the light and those who worship it from existence. To bring pain and agony to those who would see salvation in the light. Revenge and so-called Vengeance, at any cost.

Rhogar is known for specifically brutal and terrifying combat abilities, augmented by his master Aribus. Previously, Rhogar was a true champion of the light, and in the darkness has found new abilities that make him an even greater threat. Relying on an enchanted armory and dark magic fueled into him from the Void, Rhogar set out to do his master's work. Rhogar's relentless attacks on Havokk have led him across the continent on a campaign of death, leaving only bodies, bloodshed, and destruction in his wake.
