"Do not fear death, the only thing you have to be afraid of is me."
-Xanathia
A powerful warlock and enchantress, Xanathia is a feared opponent to many. Using incantations that corrupt, disease, and wither away her enemies using dark magics, she travels across the realm, draining the spirit and life force of her enemies. Siphoning the life force of others has allowed Xanathia to live an unnaturally long life, and with each “do-gooder” she consumes, this dark master of pestilence only becomes stronger.
Xanathia was not always a cruel mistress of the dark. At one point, she was merely a mage who sought to enhance her abilities to serve the court better than she was appointed to assist. She uncovered an ancient tome that was filled with forbidden knowledge and powerful Spellcraft. The tome whispered dark nothings to her until she finally submitted to its thrall.
Xanathia's only true companion in life is her familiar, Orpheo. This small impish creature is bound to Xanathia and summoned from the same dark tome that granted her dark power. Orpheo will do anything required of him, which is often traveling back and forth through the Void to exchange messages between Xanathia and her master, Aribus.
These two are a powerful duo, fueled by dark magic and even darker intentions. With Aribus empowering these two monsters' abilities, Xanathia has since attracted followers to her cause: a dark coven, known as “Cult of the Night Matron. At large, the Cult is dedicated to the Void and the teachings of Aribus and Zhakul. The Cult is truly a front for Xanathia’s ambitions: she and her lieutenants, Baron Vhall and Rhazul, are working to empower their “Night Matron” to become the new master of the Void and to claim Havokk and this dark realm to herself.
Through Xanathia's foul pestilence magic, she has learned of ways to funnel life force from a victim into the Void or even herself, making her very hard to defeat. Rhazul, her necromancer ally and trusted lieutenant, uses Void magic and dark abilities to resurrect their victims to fight for the cult.
Regardless of what the Cult’s main goal is, Xanathia and her dark minions are a threat to all life on Havokk. She is as ruthless as she is ambitious, willing to cut down anyone in her path who stops her from obtaining a better position.
