"Your physical suffering is temporary. We have an eternity to know your anguish in the Void."

-Zhakul

The being now known as Zhakul was once a simple mortal, bound by duty to his family and his nation. When deployed to war, the mortal eventually returned home to a bloody path and a graveyard that he once called home. While away at war, his village had been wiped out, and only the corpses of his friends, family, and loved ones were left behind. Swearing revenge against those who committed these crimes, this broken mortal set out to find those responsible and bring them to justice.

Over time, and with each passing failure to find his family's killer, the mortal became more broken. Disheartened. The justice the mortal sought ended up being the prison to which he was bound, and eventually, the mortal accepted that he might not ever find his family's killer. The time he had spent jaded his existence, leaving no compassion or joy in life - only pain and regret.

Sensing the weakness of the mortal's resolve, the dark entity Zhakul reached out to the mortal, claiming to be the spirit of his lost son. Zhakul guided the mortal to a lost temple located deep within the mountains. The dark altar there would have driven anyone else away, as its vile presence was so intense that the very mountain around it blackened. The mortal had nothing left to lose. Nothing left to live for. In one last attempt at salvation, the mortal followed the spirit to the altar.

Having a new sense of purpose and vigor, the mortal found the temple, quested inside, and found the blackened crystal the being spoke of. The being demanded that the mortal destroy this crystal, as this act would release the being, and it would be able to use its strength to return the mortal to his family. The mortal shattered the crystal, and Zhakul, the Avatar of Pain, was born.

Immediately taking over the mortal's body, Zhakul erased any shred of the person that once was. True to his word, he released the mortal to be with his family in death. From this weakness, he was released from his prison to wreak havoc once again.

Zhakul uses the suffering of Havokk as fuel for his dark warpath, moving across the land. Zhakul has erected a legion of Scarred, mangled, deformed, and violated mortals that are bound by dark magic to do their master's will. Empowered by their pain, Zhakul leads the offensive against the mortals of Havokk following a long-conspired plan to destroy Havokk. While in his Voidstone prison, he had nothing but time to plot and scheme. Though his plans have shifted due to the arrival of Aribus, his overall goal remains the same: To extinguish life and to become the Sower of pain and discord across all of creation.

Now knowing that his eternal nemesis, Uutu, is absent from Havokk, he has enacted his dark desires by aligning with Aribus for added strength. Zhakul plans to eventually overthrow him and relinquish control of the Void to himself so that an everlasting era of darkness will consume all life on Havokk.

Zhakul, Avatar of Pain – [Demon Build]

  • The Demon Build is a solo build focusing on the Anima ability and Zhakul’s specific strengths. Once Zhakul has absorbed enough energy, he becomes an unstoppable force of dark fury and will destroy all living beings on Havokk.

Example: Encounter against a Hero enemy – You've encountered a deity of the Void, Zhakul! The avatar of pain, dark being bound to Havokk, and leader of the Chancellors of the Void.

  • Zhakul smirks as he sees you combat his "Scarred" minions. Every strike, he savors. Every ounce of pain inflicted a rush to his senses, invigorating him further.
